My tutoring approach

I am a very calm teacher believing that the best way for anyone to achieve is to believe in their potential and to make them feel special.

I have a wealth of exam board experience and understand how numerous exam boards devise and mark their papers, therefore I know how best to answer questions to achieve the higher grades.

Professional experience

Tutoring experience: 15+ years

I have worked in an inner city school in the UK for the last 17 years teaching Geography, Citizenship, Leisure, Travel and Tourism at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 and I am an examiner for 6 of the UK exam boards. I have previously been a Subject Leader Geography for 5 years and a Subject Leader Travel and Tourism for 8 years. I am now an online Head of Geography for an online school.

I mark and moderate ELC, BTEC First, GCSE and IGCSE in Geography, Travel and Tourism, and Environmental Management.

I am a coach and mentor for teachers and work for four companies as a teacher trainer. I have mentored teachers undertaking a Masters in Teaching and Learning on a 1-2-1 basis, as well as given 1-2-1 tutoring in English language to EAL KS3 pupils.
