My tutoring approach
You'll want good exam results, and I'll do my utmost in partnership with you to make sure you get them. But good grades will be easier to obtain if you can appreciate the power and beauty of maths too. This is when learning becomes exciting, and studying becomes easy.
I aim to provide an environment that is friendly, focussed and ambitious, where we both commit to sustained concentration and effort towards our goals. I will always start from where you are. I'll strive to create an atmosphere in which you don't fear making a mistake, but rather we'll pursue an error's consequences to where contradictions will be gently pointed out.
Whatever your starting ability, you'll be welcome in my sessions, and I'll encourage every student I teach to reach their full potential.

Jonny has been excellent in helping me towards my AS level maths. Not only was it a major boost in confidence after a fairly difficult first year in A-level maths but hopefully the effects of his brilliant teaching will be shown when the results come in. Would highly recommend!
Our son needed some top up to try to just ensure he had mastered what he needed to get the predicted high GCSE grade. We are quite academic but maths is nt our strong point and you know what its like trying to teach your own kids!!! Jonny really enthused him and helped him approach the exam with confidence. he sits it later this week and I am sure he will benefit from Jonny's coaching. We'll let Jonny know how he gets on in August. Really recommend him though. Clearly has 'the knack'.
